Gnanasuria Bahavan with the Trainees

I am D.Gnanasuria Bahavan, 71 years old, graduated in Agriculture and post-graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication.

1. I am very proud of my parents, my father  Mr. R. Devaraj was a village school Headmaster a versatile man. My mother by the name D.Mangalakshimi was an efficient Home Manager.

2. I graduated in Agriculture and post-graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication.

3. I was employed in the Government Machinery, as Agricultural Officer for 6 years and as a Broadcaster for 18 years on All India Radio, and served for Agriculture and Rural Development.

4. I took voluntary retirement in the year 1995 and founded my own Service Organization, BHUMII TRUST to work for the rural people for the sustainable development of  Natural Resources and Agriculture.

5. Thanks to Google and other online platforms, I have formed Whatsapp groups, Blogspot, and  Youtube programs to continue my services for the development of Natural Resources and Agriculture.

6. To my credit, I have authored and published more than  1000 articles and in other formats, on this website, and around 160  Video programs on my youtube following my Vision and Mission.

7. I was thrice awarded for my literary works, Short Stories, Short novels, and for one of my stage dramas, one of my short stories was prescribed as the syllabus for postgraduate students of Madurai Kamaraj University, in Tamilnadu.

8. My organization got the following awards for the project activities as follows. 

a. 2010 - Green Watershed Project Recognition by the Government of Tamilnadu.

b. 2017 - Second Best Watershed Development Implementation by NABARD.

c. 2022 - Green Champion Award for Tiruppathur District, By the Pollution Control Board, Government of Tamilnadu.

d. 2022 - State Level Best Performer Award by NABARD for the implementation of the Climate Change Proofing Project. 

8. I have established a Training Centre by the name of Bhumii Water Institute and so for giving training on Watershed Development and on Conservation of Natural Resources. I am very proud to say that I have trained the farming community and the officers around 15000 people.

9. 202I - have published a book on 108 Indian trees under the title (Dhinam Dhinam Vanam Seivom),- 540 pages.

10. 2023 - have published a book on 108  trees of India and on the trees of Western countries - 610 pages.
