Recently the Indian Prime Minister spoke about the traditional dogs, particularly he has mentioned the superiority of the traditional dogs of Tamilnadu.
This program will give you much interesting important information pertaining to the traditional dogs of Tamilnadu, namely Rajapalayam, Chippiparai, and Kombai.
Rajapalayam dog breed origin of Rajapalayam one of the cities of Virudhunagar district, during the reign of Thippusulthan, the great Mohal Emperor, it is said he was having a special and unique troupe in his military, consists of 400 numbers of Rajapalayam purebred dogs to fight against the Britishers, the breed is pure white in color, its mouth nose, and foot will be pink, they are ferocious, intelligent, adopt and adhere to any sort of training, and its age is 20 years, even today it is said Rajapalayam is recruited in Indian Army too.
Chippiparai dog breed, the origin of the Western Ghats and a village by name Chippiparai 30 km away from Satthur, the nearest prominent city is Kovilpatty.
The breed is in Black and Tan color, in other colors also like White and Black, White and Ash color, it is more suitable hunting, in earlier days Zamindars and big landlords used these dog breed for hunting purposes, its age is 16 years, it's having a medium-size body but they are lean and thin and attractive in appearance.

Kombai, belongs to a village of Theni district, its a powerful dog best suited as a watchdog at home as well as in farms to gourd the herds of sheep, goats, and other cattle, it can protect them even from tiger and cheetah, the breed is very powerful aggressive and can live for 13 years.
